There are several things about the Cincinnati cruise that you will need to decide on before the detailed planning begins.
- This is a one or two way cruise so that is the first thing you will want to decide. You can leave the Louisville area and cruise up to Cincinnati one way then stay in Cincinnati and travel home via your own planed transportation. This happens a lot when customers are meeting friends in Cincinnati for some event (game, meeting, or anything).
- What is your time frame? Remember it is 133 miles to Cincinnati by water and cruising at around 10 miles per hour with one lock and dam to navigate it takes about 18 hours one-way with no stops.
- For our two day, one-way trips we often plan a stop in Madison IN or Carrolton KY. Also Belterra casino which is half way there and is a great place to stop for the night.
- For the nonstop trip we often take the day crew load which is up to ten but remember the boat only sleeps eight with the pullout (2 per bed) so someone is going half to share or stay up with the crew.
- River conditions on both the Markland Lock pool and the McAlpine Lock pool are generally stable and easy to navigate without many delays. Also because both chambers are open now at Markland getting through the lock goes quite quickly.
- Normally on the Cincinnati trip once we arrive you will want to have a hotel waiting for you. As you plan your trip with your hostess she will help pick out your hotel of choice as well as arranging all ground transportation. Our hostesses are very knowledgeable of many cites we visit and Cincinnati so if you need a guide she will be glad to show you around.
- Feel free to call us with any questions about this or any other trip.
Happy Cruising and remember everything we do at Marinette Dream Cruises is to ensure you have the time of your life.
